1. Turn off the microphone by sliding the switch on the side of the speaker. This ensures the device is ready for manual input.

2. Locate the centre of the speaker, where the four LED lights appear during activity.

3. Press and hold this area for five seconds. If done correctly, the reset process should begin, although you’ll be in a grace period during which you can cancel if needed.

4. Continue holding for an additional 10 seconds. You’ll hear a sound that confirms the reset is in progress. At that point, you can lift your finger.

Resetting the Google Home Mini (1st Generation)

If you’re using the first-generation Google Home Mini, the process differs slightly:

• Look for the small reset button located underneath the power cable port.

• Press and hold this button until you hear a tone confirming the reset. No need to disable the microphone for this version.

What a Factory Reset Does
